Status. Stature. Substance.
The substance of the entrepreneur is what ultimately defines the entrepreneur.
Status refers to the titles have and the positions we hold.
Stature comprises of two aspects – our credibility and confidence. Credibility is about how others view us, while confidence is about how we view ourselves.
Substance is defined by who we are in our depth. Ultimately, our status and stature should be built upon the solid foundation of our substance.
It is natural for performance-driven society to gravitate towards entrepreneurs of status because most people only care about titles and positions. But status shouldn’t matter. Status games are futile endeavours. When we focus our energy on striving for higher status, we often miss out on developing the stature that gives us credibility and confidence.
What truly matters is the substance.
The entrepreneur of substance is the person with cultivated inner stability. He is secure, emotionally stable, rested and humble, and that enables him to handle crises, criticism and compliments well. He knows clearly that he has nothing to hide, nothing to prove, and nothing to lose.
When the entrepreneurs develop and grow in substance, his status and stature will be on solid ground.
